Uploaded resumes are never stored

If you upload an existing resume to pre-fill the builder, we read its text once to extract your details, use it to fill in the form, and then discard the file. We do not save the uploaded document to our servers, our database, or any backups. Only the fields you keep and submit are stored.

Overview

Big4Resume ("we," "us") helps Big 4 and finance professionals understand their market value and build stronger resumes. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed the product to collect as little personal information as possible and to keep what you do share private.

Information We Collect

  • Assessment inputs: Details you enter to estimate your market value — such as firm, title, practice area, location, and experience. These are used to generate your results.
  • Resume builder inputs: Contact details, work history, education, and skills you enter (or import) to create a resume.
  • Uploaded files: If you upload an existing resume, its text is processed in memory to pre-fill the builder and is not retained (see the callout above).
  • Usage data: Basic, privacy-friendly analytics about how the site is used, which help us improve the product. We do not use this to identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

  • To generate your personalized compensation ranges and career insights.
  • To create and enhance your resume, including AI-generated summaries and bullet points.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Big4Resume platform.
  • To respond to you if you contact us for support.

AI Processing

We use AI (including Anthropic's Claude) to generate resume content and career insights. The information needed for a given request is sent to our AI provider solely to produce your result. We do not permit your information to be used to train third-party models, and uploaded resume files are converted to text and discarded rather than stored.

What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
  • We do not retain resume files you upload to pre-fill the builder.

Data Retention & Security

We keep the information you submit only as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business purposes. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect.

Your Choices

You can use the market-value assessment without building a resume, and you can fill in the builder manually instead of uploading a file. If you'd like us to delete information associated with you, contact us and we'll take care of it.
